Introduction
Hello & welcome!
My name is Y. Kim Ro, and I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) at Collegewood Elementary.
This is my 8th year here at WVUSD and my 11th year as an SLP. It's been an amazing experience working with students, parents, staff, master/graduate interns, and SLPAs over the years.
This year, I have an amazing SLP who will help support us! Her name is Kristie Law. This is her first year at our district. It is so exciting to have another SLP to support our students! She is supporting the upper graders, and I am supporting the lower graders.
Just as a reminder, I am available to meet with you upon request to go over tips and strategies at any time during the school year. Because annual IEP meetings are held once a year, it may be easy to lose track of what was discussed during our meetings. Also, I know that IEP meetings can be overwhelming and a lot of information is shared, so I am happy to set aside time to conference with you to answer any questions or to clear up any confusion. Email is the best way to reach me.
Another reminder is that speech/language therapy follows the academic calendar and sessions are not provided on special days or events such as holidays, parent/teacher conferences, disaster drills, field trips, minimum days, state testing, etc.
I want to end by saying how grateful I am for all the parents here at Collegewood. Throughout my years here, I have had nothing but support and encouragement from all of you, and I thank God every day for all the blessings I have received from you and the students. I cannot wait to see how much our kids grow this academic school year! Let's look forward to another great year!
