Dear Collegewood Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
As I begin my second year as principal and my fifth year as part of the Collegewood family, I remain incredibly grateful to be part of such a special community. Collegewood has held a special place in my heart since the day I arrived, and each year I am reminded that what makes our school so exceptional is the people, our students, staff, and families, who show up every day with kindness, dedication, and a commitment to one another.
This year, our schoolwide theme is "Be the One." While the phrase may be simple, its message is powerful. Every day, we have the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life. We can be the ones who offer encouragement, extend kindness, celebrate a success, or help someone through a challenge. Sometimes it only takes one person, one conversation, or one moment to change the course of a child's day, year, or future.
At Collegewood, we know that learning happens best when students feel safe, supported, and connected. Through our Collegewood 4Rs, Resourceful, Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn, we will continue to create a school culture where every child feels valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
As I reflect on all we accomplished together last year, I am filled with excitement for what lies ahead. Whether you are new to Collegewood or returning for another year, please know that you are an important part of our school community. Thank you for your partnership, trust, and support as we work together to provide the very best for our students.
I cannot wait to welcome students back to campus, hear the excitement in our classrooms, and celebrate the many moments of growth, learning, and success that this year will bring.
Here's to a wonderful 2026–2027 school year. Together, let's challenge ourselves to Be the One who makes a difference.
With gratitude,
Jessica Cadena
